Charles Phillips Brings Youthful Dynamism to Infor as its New CEO
It is a common perception that young executives taking the helm of IT companies generally do best with innovative products and services for which older CEO takes more deliberate caution. This may account for Charles Phillips Oracle co-president for the last 7 years, bringing triple growth rates for the company with innovative software products that harness middleware GUI to further penetrate ERP markets. He also been instrumental in integrating into Oracle 70 acquired companies worth more than $30 billion that included big names like BEA Systems, Siebel Systems and Hyperion.
This expertise, leadership and managerial skills now benefit the $2 billion Atlanta-based ERP Company Infor Global Solutions. The Charles Phillips Oracle released in September 2010 to Infor as its new CEO is now in charge of propelling the 9-year old company to greater heights of successes that its former CEO Jim Schaper has started. Jim is now the new Infor board chairman and managing partner at Golden Globe Capital, Infor’s main stockholder. He now looks after the strategic directions of the company, leaving Charles with executive and operational aspects of running the company.
The move comes at a time when Infor was about to release its next generation ERP application products as it entered what it calls its 2nd growth phase. The Charles Phillips Oracle had benefited from now faces the same challenge of further growing Infor the way he did at Oracle. In addition, with his youthful vigor and managerial dynamism inspiring public confidence on the company, Infor looks forward to a successful IPO offering soon.
